These factors, including but not limited to income, employment, social supports, literacy skills and transportation have a major impact on people’s ability to lead long, healthy lives.

The External Conditions Affecting Health (ECAH) priority area contains four overarching goals with specific objectives developed for each goal. The goals for the ECAH priority area are:

  1. Expand access to high-quality educational opportunities for all across the lifespan.

  2. Improve access to high-quality health care services for all across the lifespan.

  3. Support communities to promote healthy, interconnected, and safe environments.

  4. Enhance opportunities to foster economic vitality and resilience for all people.
