Transmissible and Emerging Diseases

Priority Area Data Dashboard

Infectious organisms that are primarily acquired and transmitted through sexual activity cause many harmful, often irreversible and costly clinical complications in reproductive, fetal and perinatal health. Other emerging infectious agents pose the threat of disease outbreaks. Prevention, treatment and diagnostic strategies are essential.

Transmissible and Emerging Diseases

Priority Area Goals and Performance

The Transmissible and Emerging Diseases (TED) priority area contains four overarching goals with specific objectives developed for each goal. The goals for the TED priority area are:

  1. Eliminate HIV transmission and reduce HIV-related deaths.

  2. Reduce sexually transmitted infection rates.

  3. Reduce vaccine preventable diseases across the lifespan for all people.

  4. Improve population health by preventing, detecting, and responding to existing and emerging health threats.

The Indicator Performance bar chart presents a detailed view of progress across this specific Priority Area, with individual bars divided into segments that show the proportion of indicators within the Priority Area.

SHIP Data Indicator Performance Icon Definitions

The following icons represent the status of each indicator compared against the SHIP target value for that indicator.
Indicator has MET the SHIP target value.
Indicator has NOT met the SHIP target, but the latest value is CLOSER TO the target value than the previous value.
Indicator has NOT met the SHIP target, but the latest value is NO DIFFERENT than the previous value.
